Content Moderation Policy
How we keep reviews on Owambe Tribe honest and fair.
1. Purpose
Owambe Tribe exists because brides deserve honest vendor reviews. This policy explains how we screen, investigate, and act on reported or high-risk content, and how vendors can dispute a review they believe is unfair.
2. Automatic Screening
Every review is automatically screened for high-risk language before it goes live — this includes potential defamation, unverified accusations of criminal activity, hate speech, or personal information about staff. Reviews flagged by this screening are held in moderation rather than published immediately.
3. Reports & Investigation
Any vendor or user can report a published review. A reported review enters an investigation state while our team evaluates the claim against our Review Guidelines. We look at the review's content, any evidence submitted by either side, and whether the review is tied to a verified booking.
4. What Moderators Can Do
- Approve — the review is published as submitted.
- Edit for clarity — minor edits only (e.g. removing a phone number), never to change the reviewer's opinion.
- Reject — the review is not published; the author is notified with a reason.
- Remove — a previously published review is taken down for a policy or legal violation.
Every moderation action is logged with a timestamp and reason for internal audit and transparency.
5. Vendor Disputes
Vendors may submit a dispute against a review through their dashboard, along with supporting evidence (booking records, message threads, receipts). We aim to resolve disputes within 5 business days. Disputes do not automatically remove a review — only a genuine policy or legal violation does.
6. What We Don't Do
We do not remove reviews simply because they are negative, and we do not accept payment from vendors in exchange for removing or suppressing reviews. A one-star review that reflects a genuine experience stays up, exactly like a five-star one.
7. Appeals
If your review was rejected or removed and you believe that was a mistake, you can appeal by replying to the notification email or contacting us directly with your review ID.
